COVID-19 Overview

The outbreak of the Wuhan CoronaVirus officially designated COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO), was first detected in Wuhan, Hubei Province, Peoples Republic of China. The ensuing outbreak has now spread globally with alarming speed.

Officially designated (belatedly) by WHO as a global pandemic, the Public Health Policy and social responses and outcomes are of much concern to all of us globally, especially to countries with less developed healthcare infrastructure, that lack the necessary resources and the capacity to fight this infectious disease caused by a new virus.

COVID-19 Task Force

If you are a duly elected Representative, Parliamentarian, Government official or in a leadership position at any of the Ministries / Departments of Health (especially from any of the countries mentioned below) OR are a Medical professional with domain expertise of infectious diseases or epidemiology (from any region globally) that would like to champion or recommend Public Health Policies and would like to bring your valuable knowledge to our – COVID-19 Task Force, please contact us at: outreach@asianeconomicforum.com

We need your HELP in assembling our COVID-19 Task Force in S.E. Asia & its regions. We welcome your suggestions.

Our objective is to play our small part in bringing about positive Public Health and Economic Policy outcomes as soon as possible for all people and societies.

Our goal is to be supportive to Policy stakeholders so that we can help contribute positively in the realm of Policy outcomes for Public Health.

Our implementation strategy is to provide local champions with diverse Public Health Policy informational resources and pose Policy questions to help them enhance their own internal Policy making Discussions and thereby consider Public Health Policy responses for their societies and countries that they may not have been ordinarily considered.

NOTE: We do not have a domain expertise in Public Health Policies, however in the face of a global pandemic, we are duty bound as good global citizens to do whatever we can to minimize the impacts of this infectious disease outbreak and prevent further collateral damage.

Public Health Policy & Economic Impact Discussions

The Wuhan CoronaVirus / COVID-19 outbreak will significantly impact the Public Health and the economic well being of people, communities and countries globally.

The longer term effects will be the subject of much debate and academic studies, however immediate governmental actions, societal acceptance and Policy responses will likely have a disproportionate impact as compared to any other time in the last 100 years.
